Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of gsosconnect.org (the "Site"), online forms, and digital services operated by Good Samaritan Outreach Society ("GSOS", "we", "us", or "our"), a registered non-profit organization based in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Eligibility

The Site is intended for users 13 years of age and older. If you are under the age of majority in your province, you may use the Site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

2. Use of the Site

The Site is provided for informational, community-service, and charitable purposes. You agree to use it lawfully and respectfully, and not to:

• Interfere with or disrupt the Site, our servers, or networks connected to the Site;
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site, user accounts, or related systems;
• Use the Site to transmit viruses, malware, spam, or other harmful content;
• Scrape, harvest, or otherwise collect information about other users without consent;
• Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organization; or
• Use the Site to violate any applicable law or third-party right.

3. User-submitted content

When you submit information through a form, email, story, or comment, you confirm that the content is accurate, that you have the right to share it, and that it does not infringe anyone's rights. You grant GSOS a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use submitted content for the purpose of responding to you, delivering our services, and (where you have given explicit consent) promoting our programs. You can withdraw consent for promotional use at any time by contacting us.

4. Information accuracy

We work to keep program details, resource listings, and event information accurate and current, but content on the Site may change without notice. Third-party listings (such as community resources, partner agencies, hotlines, and external links) are provided for convenience only — please confirm details directly with each organization before relying on them.

5. No professional advice

Information on the Site is for general information purposes and does not constitute medical, legal, financial, immigration, or mental health advice. In an emergency, call 9-1-1. For crisis support in British Columbia, call or text 9-8-8 (Suicide Crisis Helpline). For specific guidance, please consult a qualified professional.

6. Third-party links and services

The Site contains links to third-party websites and services. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of those sites. Linking does not imply endorsement.

7. Intellectual property

The GSOS name, logo, photography, graphics, and original written content are the property of Good Samaritan Outreach Society or our licensors and are protected by Canadian and international copyright and trademark laws. You may share links to the Site freely. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or use our content for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.

8. Donations

Donations made to GSOS support our charitable programs. Donations are processed by third-party payment processors and are subject to their terms. Donations are generally non-refundable except where required by law or in cases of demonstrable error; please contact us within 30 days if you believe a donation was made in error. Official tax receipts are issued in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) guidelines for eligible gifts.

9. Volunteers and program participants

Volunteering with GSOS and participation in our programs may be subject to additional terms, including codes of conduct, confidentiality expectations, and safety policies. Those additional terms will be provided to you separately and form part of your agreement with GSOS.

10. Privacy

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including, without limitation, warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GSOS, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Site or reliance on its content, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GSOS and its representatives from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.

14. Changes to the Site or Terms

We may modify or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date above indicates the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the applicable laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in British Columbia for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site.
